News

As of Sunday 24 March 2024, Brunswick Tool Library is no longer operating its regular Tool Market pop-up at Fawkner Food Bowls. We extend our deepest gratitude to Fawkner Food Bowls (FFB) for its support over these last few years, and look forward to working with FFB in different ways to support sustainability and a circular economy.

Don’t forget that all tool reservations and renewals can be done online via MyTurn, accessed by clicking ‘Browse Tools’.

To help manage the workload on our volunteers and prevent disappointment for our members, we’re no longer allowing tools to be reserved the same day that they are being returned. This one day buffer between returns and reservations will create a better borrowing and returning experience for our members. This means that once tools are returned, the next day that the tools are available for borrowing will be the next day the library is open. This small change helps ensure that the tools you need are available, and our amazing volunteers can do quick maintenance on tools as needed before they go out again.

In addition, you can now also book time slots for reservations, so you can let us know what time you're coming to collect your tools.

Empowering the community

BTL is a volunteer-led non-profit initiative that provides the tools and education needed to repair and care for your home and belongings. We believe everyone deserves the right to build and repair the things they own - not just those who can afford the tools.
